Introduction by our Principal

Kalipada Ghosh Tarai Mahavidyalaya, a UGC recognised undergraduate college affiliated to the University of North Bengal, was established in November, 1988 with the mission of spreading higher education among the underprivileged and rural people of the surrounding area. The location of the college is unique as it is situated in a rural and primarily tribal belt, surrounded by tea estates and tea gardens; yet the second largest city of West Bengal is only fifteen kilometers away and inter state and inter national boarders are quite near. The college was accredited by NAAC with Grade B in February, 2006. The present strength of the students is above 3,000. The college initially began with B.Com Pass course with only a handful of students but now the college offers Honours courses in 12 different subjects in Arts and Commerce.
