Apart from Chalk and Talk mode of teaching the college applies some other skill-based modes too through group discussions, students’ Seminars, quiz-competitions, power point presentation, essay writing, project-work etc. The College has some extension activities of Community Development, Health and Hygiene Awareness, Medical Camp, Adult education and awareness, AIDS awareness, especially through NCC and NSS wings of the College. Meritorious and poor students are given financial assistance out of poor fund, students from the ST, SC & OBC communities are given State Govt. stipends. Below Poverty Line students are also given financial assistance out of poor fund, students from the ST, SC & OBC communities are given State Govt. stipends. Below Poverty Line students are also given financial assistance out of poor fund. The College promotes Cultural activities amongst students. The College publishes annual magazine. The College holds Counseling sessions in collaboration with different organizations on the issues of Drug addiction, Juvenile delinquency etc. The library has been computerized and is well equipped. NCC unit has done commendable performance and is one cadet is recommended for Youth Exchange Programme. The college has career counselling cell also.
 

Notice Board

Students belonging to B.P.L. category are eligible to avail concession on productionof the following documents before he admission :

  1. B.P.L. Certificate from their respective Panchayat / Municipal Corporation.
  2. Copy of the B.P.L. Survey Report.
  3. B.P.L. Ration card.

 

Students must pass in at the two units tests out of three unit tests for appearing in the final examination and for filling-up the FORM.
For the College Examinations (except Language papers) answers are to be written in either English or Bengali.
Tentative time for unit-tests :
First Unit Tests  : Last week of September
2nd Unit Tests   : 2nd week of December
3rd Unit Tests    : 3rd week of February



The College has a library for the use of students and members of the staff which is increasing its stock every session. After admission, a student has to produce their Fee Receipt to the Librarian for collecting their  Library Card within the notified time. The college also has a reading-room facility.

Govt. Scholarships are recommended every year for the students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC categories.

The amount received from the students as contribution to the students’ aid fund is utilized to offer financial aid to the needy and meritorious students.

Students may obtain Railway Concession for their journey to the residence and back only during the vacation. However, Group Railway Concession is issued to students for educational tours only if accompanied by the concerned teacher.

Poor and meritorious tea garden students if recommended by the tea garden authorities may get some special benefits regarding admission and tuition fees.

The college organizes several cultural activities, youth parliaments, and publishes magazine annually.

There is a provision for concession for the best performance in sports / cultural activities / academic fields


The NCC unit of the college maintains a glorious face.
